MH Animal Foods Ltd

MH Animal Foods Ltd was created in 1988 by Michael Platts, in partnership with Michael Hassel, director of the German firm Michael Hassel GmbH.

Michael Hassel’s father used to supply zoos and circuses with meat all around Germany. When he took over the company, Michael realised that the parks were struggling to replicate their animals’ natural diet so decided to work in close collaboration with numerous European Zoological parks and managed to develop a varied range of dry and frozen food, over the years, covering the nutritional needs of most animals.

In order to facilitate the distribution process in the United Kingdom, Michael Platts then decided to establish a sister company in England and has been supplying major zoological parks, wildlife parks, reptile and falconry centres as well as private owners throughout the UK and Europe since.

Although this kind of food is classified as category 2 and 3 material not intended for human consumption, quality is of great importance to them. Their premises are regularly checked by the veterinary services of their respective country.
